Chapter 75
Vivian Bennett had a fine sheen of sweat on her forehead.
She had just been taken advantage of by Liam Sullivan.
Now her perfect attendance bonus was gone too.
People said there were benefits to being involved in an under-the-table deal with the boss.
She hadn't gained any benefits at all.
Instead, she had lost money.
"Vivian Bennett, I am criticizing you. How dare you space out?" Hannah Green glared at her angrily.
Vivian quickly snapped back to attention.
As the saying goes, you don't hit a smiling person.
She immediately forced a smile.
"Manager Green, you are absolutely right!"
She adopted an expression of humbly accepting instruction.
Hannah was momentarily speechless.
Although Isabella Sullivan had instructed her to make things difficult for Vivian, she still needed to find a suitable opportunity.
"Did you finish the work I assigned you yesterday?" Hannah asked directly.
"It's finished," Vivian replied crisply.
She had stayed up all night and finally organized all the materials.
"Bring it to me for inspection." Hannah was skeptical.
How could all that material be organized overnight?
She had originally planned to use this as an excuse to cause trouble.
She didn't expect Vivian to have actually finished it.
This left her with no way to proceed.
"Manager Green, please wait a moment." Vivian responded with a smile.
She lowered her head to look for that stack of organized materials.
However—
The materials had vanished into thin air.
Vivian searched all over her desk, the drawers, under the table…
Nothing.
"That's strange. I clearly left them right here," she muttered to herself.
Hannah's gaze was sharp. "Where are the materials? The meeting is about to start."
"Manager Green, I was indeed working overtime last night. But the materials have suddenly disappeared." Vivian softened her tone to explain.
Emily Davis saw this and quickly chimed in to help. "Manager Green, Vivian was still working overtime when I left work."
Hannah shot Emily a fierce glare. "Your input is not needed here!"
Vivian gave Emily a grateful look, signaling her not to get involved further.
"You say you worked overtime organizing the materials. Where are they? Did they grow legs and run away? Vivian Bennett, you're lying without even preparing a story!" Hannah scolded harshly.
This time, she was determined to make Vivian lose face publicly.
"I really worked on it all night. I never left the company." Vivian looked at Hannah's angry face, her own expression full of innocence and confusion.
This was truly bizarre.
She clearly remembered finishing organizing the materials this morning before going to the restroom.
How could they be gone after she returned from the CEO's office?
"It seems you won't give up until you hit a wall. The materials are gone, and you're still being stubborn? Do you want everyone to think I'm falsely accusing you?" Hannah pressed aggressively.
Her voice was loud and imposing.
It immediately attracted the attention of everyone else in the office.
"The PR department hasn't been this lively in a long time. There's a good show to watch."
"Who do you think is lying? The new girl, or is Manager Green deliberately making things difficult?" Someone whispered.
