Chapter 649

Vivian Bennett's gaze was sharp as a blade, piercing straight into Luna Clark's eyes.

"Even if you don't say it, I can guess," she said.

"The mastermind behind this is Patriarch Sullivan, isn't it?"

Luna's pupils contracted sharply.

Her voice trembled.

"How... how did you know?"

Vivian let out a cold laugh.

Her tone was resolute.

"How I know isn't important."

"What matters is that your plan is doomed to fail."

A wave of panic washed over Luna.

She didn't understand why Vivian was so certain.

But the sharpness in those eyes left no room for doubt.

"What do you want?" Luna's voice dropped to a whisper.

"Call him." Vivian held her phone out in front of Luna.

Luna reached for it, then jerked her hand back.

She shook her head in anguish.

"No... I can't."

"You want to lure him here. I can't do that."

"Why?" Vivian frowned.

"You can't even save yourself, and you're still worried about others?"

Luna gave a bitter smile.

"He's holding my parents."

"So I can't betray him."

"You could kill me, and I still couldn't help you."

Vivian studied her.

The hatred in her heart suddenly faded a little.

The woman before her reminded her so much of her own past self.

Weak and helpless.

"If you're unwilling, you should fight fate with your own hands," Vivian said calmly.

"No one can walk this path for you."

Luna was stunned.

She hadn't expected this woman, who should hate her to the bone, to say such a thing.

A faint warmth quietly spread through her heart.

Ding-dong.

The doorbell rang abruptly.

Vivian's eyes hardened.

She quickly turned and picked up a syringe from the table, hiding it in her sleeve.

Through the peephole, she saw Isabella Sullivan standing outside.

Her expression was wary.

Vivian opened the door.

A smile appeared on her face.

"Come in."

But Isabella stood at the doorway, unmoving.

She eyed Vivian suspiciously.

"Why did you ask me to come here?"

"Come in first." Vivian didn't give her a chance to retreat.

She reached out and took hold of Isabella's arm.

The needle tip silently pierced the skin.

Isabella's body went limp.

Vivian caught her smoothly, her smile still in place.

"Careful, let me help you inside."

Isabella had always been cautious.

Though she had been asked to come alone, Vivian had long sensed it.

At least two plainclothes bodyguards were lurking nearby.

The action had to be light.

They couldn't alert anyone.

She dragged Isabella into the room and dumped her in a corner.

Under the drug's effect, Isabella was completely paralyzed.

She couldn't even lift a finger.

She could only stare at Vivian with wide, furious eyes.

"I brought bodyguards," Isabella gritted out.

"They'll break in soon."

"If you dare touch me, you'll pay the price."

"Your bodyguards can't save you." Vivian shoved a phone into her hand.

"If you want to live, call Patriarch Sullivan."

"Tell him to go to [Address Redacted]."

After dealing with these two, the next one would be the Patriarch.

Today, she was going to catch them all in one net.

Isabella stared at Vivian, hatred churning in her eyes.

To save her own life, she had no choice.

Her hand trembled as she dialed the number.
