Chapter 56

A cold, calculating glint flashed in Isabella Sullivan's eyes.

Vivian Bennett's mind was in complete disarray.

She ignored Isabella and turned to leave.

"Brother..."

Isabella pushed open the door to the CEO's office, her voice dripping with sugary sweetness.

Liam Sullivan didn't look up.

"What is it?"

Isabella's smile faltered for a second.

She walked over and sat down close to him.

"Grandma and Grandpa want us to go back for dinner tonight."

Liam frowned. "Make an excuse for me."

Every visit was just them pressuring him to get married. He was tired of dealing with it.

Isabella tugged at his sleeve, pouting. "Brother, they want to see you. What will they think if I go back alone? They'll assume I'm deliberately keeping you from them."

Liam was silent for a moment.

"I'll go with you tonight."

He didn't want to put his sister in a difficult position.

He had remained single all these years, and rumors were swirling outside.

Some even spread malicious gossip about his relationship with Isabella being inappropriate.

This absurd talk had somehow reached his grandparents' ears.

The elderly couple held quite a negative opinion of Isabella.

This dinner invitation was undoubtedly another setup for a blind date.

If he didn't go, Isabella would definitely bear the brunt of their displeasure.

Isabella smiled sweetly.

Her brother still doted on her, after all.

But...

The thought of Vivian emerging from the lounge made her seethe with hatred.

Who did that low-class woman think she was?

How dare she set her sights on someone of Liam's status?

She would teach Vivian a lesson she wouldn't forget.

Vivian had just returned to the Public Relations department when Hannah Green slammed a stack of files onto her desk.

"These are needed for tomorrow's meeting. They must be organized by today."

Vivian stared at the mountain of paperwork, unable to believe it.

"How could I possibly finish all this alone..."

"Then work overtime," Hannah sneered.

Colleagues all around cast amused, sidelong glances.

Vivian's face paled.

Hannah was clearly targeting her on purpose.

But she had no choice but to do it.

She had just transferred to this department. She didn't want to start a conflict with her supervisor.

But why was Hannah always singling her out?

She truly couldn't understand.

After Hannah left, Emily Davis leaned closer. "Do you need help?"

"Thank you," Vivian said gratefully, offering a weak smile. "But it's better if I handle it myself. I wouldn't want to get you involved."

Emily frowned. "Does Deputy Manager Hannah have some issue with you?"

Even she could see it.

Vivian shook her head helplessly. "I don't know what I did to offend her."

She had just arrived not long ago. She didn't even know Hannah before this.
