Chapter 53
Vivian Bennett stood in the CEO's office, her fingers tightening unconsciously.
The document requiring urgent signature felt scorching in her hands.
She tried to speak several times, but swallowed her words each time.
After all, she was just a low-level employee. How could she possibly rush the big boss?
The office door suddenly swung open.
Ryan Johnson entered carrying two insulated lunch boxes, his expression respectful.
Vivian was slightly taken aback.
Ryan nodded to her proactively. "Miss Bennett."
As the chief assistant to the CEO, Ryan held an elevated position within Sullivan Group.
Even senior executives usually treated him with deference.
Yet now he was showing courtesy to a mere team member like her?
Feeling both flustered and honored, Vivian quickly curved her lips into a smile. "Assistant Johnson."
The man behind the desk abruptly looked up.
His icy gaze swept toward Ryan like a sharp blade.
A chill ran down Ryan's spine.
He swiftly placed the lunch boxes in the break room.
He practically fled the office, not daring to look at Vivian a second time.
Vivian frowned in confusion.
Assistant Johnson had been friendly just moments ago. Why was he suddenly avoiding her like the plague?
"Lunch."
Liam Sullivan's deep voice interrupted her thoughts.
Vivian assumed this was a dismissal and turned to leave.
"Come here."
Liam's voice grew even deeper, carrying an undeniable pressure.
She turned back in surprise to see the man walking toward the break room.
Did he expect her to join him for lunch?
Vivian stood frozen in place, her face filled with disbelief.
Liam turned back and firmly grasped her wrist.
"Boss?"
Her heart pounded like a drum as he pressed her onto the break room sofa.
"Eat first." Liam opened the insulated containers, releasing the aroma of food.
Vivian clenched the hem of her clothes. "I came to deliver the documents..."
Liam held a spoonful of soup to her lips. "Do you need me to feed you?"
Vivian's eyes widened as she stared at the spoon so close to her mouth.
The CEO personally feeding her?
If any colleagues saw this, the company forum would explode tomorrow.
She leaned back in panic, but he supported the back of her neck with his hand.
"Don't move."
