Chapter 461
Liam Sullivan stepped onto the stage with effortless composure.
Spotlights illuminated him, making his tall figure appear even more dazzling.
He took the microphone, his voice deep and pleasing.
Vivian Bennett rolled her eyes from her seat.
This man played the philanthropist with flawless perfection.
His words overflowed with compassion, every syllable radiating saintly brilliance.
Vivian felt she wasn't listening to a speech, but attending a revival meeting.
This man had blood on his hands, yet he acted like someone who wouldn't even step on an ant.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
She was utterly impressed.
The speech ended, and thunderous applause erupted throughout the venue.
Everyone praised his noble soul.
Yet Liam humbly stated he had only done what was expected.
This modesty won even greater admiration.
He descended the stage but did not return to the VIP seats in the first row.
Instead, he walked gracefully toward the third row.
The event organizers looked confused, trying to guide him back to the main seating.
Liam waved dismissively. "I'm not an expert. It wouldn't be appropriate to sit in the experts' section."
His words drew another wave of admiration.
Only Vivian covered her face in despair.
What kind of eyes did this man have to spot her here?
This had nothing to do with not wanting the expert seat. He clearly wanted to drive away the person next to her.
Sure enough, Liam stopped before the Eastern gentleman.
He flashed an angelic smile and politely requested to switch seats.
The Eastern gentleman, feeling honored, quickly stood up and yielded his seat.
Liam stood before Vivian, smiling down at her lowered head.
Knowing escape was impossible, she looked up and glared. "What do you want?"
Liam pointed to the vacated seat. "Move over there."
That spot was next to a young woman.
Vivian instantly understood his intention.
He not only wanted to remove the Eastern gentleman but also to separate her from the blond man.
She absolutely refused to comply.
But Liam stood there with an innocent smile.
Curious glances from the crowd intensified.
Reluctantly, she moved to the other seat.
Liam sat down in her original spot, looking satisfied.
Ambiguous looks immediately surrounded them.
Vivian lowered her voice. "Didn't you say you'd wait outside?"
"Outside was boring." Liam raised an eyebrow. "This is more interesting."
His tone instantly turned arrogant.
All traces of his earlier humility vanished.
"Then go find somewhere else to amuse yourself. Why pretend to be a philanthropist?"
Liam's lips curved with pleasure. "It's fun to play the good guy occasionally."
He closed his eyes contentedly. "Being worshipped feels rather nice."
