Chapter 405
"Even if you're fine, you still need to be careful."
"Stay home and behave during this time. Don't go anywhere. Understood?" Liam Sullivan's tone was serious as he instructed.
Vivian Bennett protested softly, "But I still have to go to work."
"Take leave. I approve it." His voice was deep and gentle.
Vivian was instantly left speechless.
Since being with Liam, her absences from work had noticeably increased.
But he was the big boss.
If he didn't pursue it, who else would dare to say anything?
Vivian suddenly remembered something and added, "By the way, I ran into your uncle and aunt at the hospital today."
"What were they doing at the hospital?" Liam's gaze darkened.
Vivian shrugged. "I heard your uncle has been having frequent headaches lately. He even talks in his sleep for no reason. Your aunt took him to see a neurologist."
Liam looked momentarily stunned.
He frowned, lost in thought.
Three days later, Vivian finally recovered from her cold.
She made plans to have dinner with her best friend, Sophia Miller.
As they ate and chatted, Vivian's mood brightened considerably.
Sophia, however, ended up drinking quite a bit.
Vivian originally intended to take Sophia home, but they ran into Liam at the restaurant entrance.
The man was clearly surprised to see her. He immediately strode over on his long legs.
Vivian looked up at him, a smile curling her lips. "What are you doing here?"
Liam watched her smiling, crescent-eyed expression. He pulled her into his embrace, his voice low and warm. "A small business dinner."
Seeing their intimacy, Sophia felt too embarrassed to let Vivian take her home.
Vivian wasn't comfortable letting Sophia take a taxi alone either. In the end, Liam had Ryan Johnson drive Sophia home.
Liam led Vivian into the restaurant to accompany him to his dinner.
When she saw only Ethan Roscente in the private dining room, she shot Liam a glare and muttered, "So this 'business dinner' is just with Mr. Roscente?"
Liam watched her charmingly annoyed expression, a slight smile touching his lips. He held her soft hand and led her to a seat.
Soon, Alexander Lowell arrived, looking rushed. "Sorry to keep everyone waiting."
He hurriedly asked the waiter to take their order. Then he handed documents to both Ethan and Liam. "Take a look at this project. If you're interested, you can invest."
Vivian had no interest in the men's business talk. She simply took out her phone, switched it to silent mode, and started playing a matching game.
