Chapter 37

Vivian Bennett frowned.

"What do you mean by waiting in line?"

The receptionist smiled sweetly.

"It means you'll have to wait to see Mr. Hudson."

She added,

"There are currently over two hundred people ahead of you."

The receptionist kindly suggested,

"Perhaps you should go home and wait?"

At this rate, Vivian might not see Zachary Hudson even by tomorrow.

Vivian instantly realized the truth.

She was being played.

Zachary Hudson was deliberately making things difficult for her.

He specifically demanded her presence for the contract signing, yet now refused to see her.

If the contract failed, the blame would fall entirely on her.

Vivian had become a pawn in the power struggle between the two companies.

Why should she take the fall for Zachary Hudson and Liam Sullivan?

She refused to be the scapegoat.

If it was about waiting, she could wait.

She could outlast him.

Vivian gritted her teeth and told the receptionist,

"Inform Mr. Hudson that I will wait here until he sees me."

She wanted to see how long Zachary could hide.

If he wanted to play games, she would play along.

From ten in the morning until eight at night, Hudson Group employees gradually left work.

Vivian's stomach ached from hunger.

The elevator remained inactive.

The security guard at the entrance kept watching her.

Vivian stood up and approached him.

"Sir, what time does Mr. Hudson usually leave?" she asked with a forced smile.

It was already eight o'clock, and Zachary still hadn't come down.

Was he working overtime tonight?

The guard kindly informed her,

"Mr. Hudson left at five. He uses the underground garage."

Vivian's frown deepened.

Zachary had left at five.

She had waited all day for nothing.

There was no chance of seeing him.

Vivian forced a smile.

"Thank you."

The guard shook his head as he watched her walk away.

Another woman obsessed with young master Hudson.

Unfortunately, Hudson was a notorious womanizer who never stayed with anyone.

He had seen many women like her.

They all ended up leaving heartbroken.

After waiting in vain all day, Vivian had no choice but to leave.

But she wouldn't give up.

Zachary's response was within her expectations.

He could avoid her today, but not forever.

Starving all day, Vivian desperately needed to replenish her energy.

She remembered a night market two streets away.

She used to go there often with Sophia Miller for street food.

She quickened her pace and headed forward.
