Chapter 358

Chloe Winston watched Liam Sullivan completely ignore her.

She was so angry she shouted at his retreating back, "I haven't eaten yet!"

Mr. Marshall had used Vivian Bennett to threaten Liam, putting him in an extremely foul mood.

Chloe Winston had chosen the worst possible time to appear.

A flash of menace crossed Liam's eyes.

He stopped walking and turned to look at her. "Miss Winston, I admire your persistence."

Her relentless pestering reminded him of when he first met Vivian.

Vivian had also done things that displeased him, but she never made him feel this impatient.

This is how people are.

For someone you care about, even their most hateful actions hold a certain flavor when remembered.

For someone you don't care about, no matter how similar their actions, you can never recapture that initial feeling.

Liam pulled a stack of cash from his wallet without looking at it.

He turned back, grabbed Chloe's hand, and shoved the money into her palm.

"This is enough for a meal and a doctor's visit. Don't come looking for me again."

After saying this, he left without a backward glance.

The action might have been insulting, but it was the limit of his tolerance.

Chloe stared at the money in her hand, watching his resolute back as he got into his car and drove away.

She bit her lip hard, turned, got into her own car, slammed the accelerator, and chased after him.

Gao Jing had just exited the tea restaurant and witnessed Liam giving her the money.

He frowned slightly and first reported to Zachary Hudson that the cooperation talks had collapsed.

Hesitating for a moment, he wasn't sure if he should mention Liam's entanglement with another woman.

Zachary's voice came through the phone, "Anything else?"

Gao Jing steeled himself and described what he had just seen, adding at the end, "Maybe it's not what I think..."

Zachary hung up before he could finish.

Vivian finished her meal alone with nothing else to do.

She passed by an event where movie discount coupons were being handed out.

She casually walked into the cinema.

After the movie ended, her phone rang. It was Liam.

His deep voice came through the receiver, "Where are you?"

Vivian told him she had just seen a movie.

"Wait for me outside the cinema." Liam hung up after saying this.

He didn't even give her a chance to say another word.

Knowing he had finished his business and was free, Vivian didn't think much of it.

She put away her phone, walked out of the cinema, and said to Ryan Johnson waiting outside, "You can head back first. Liam is coming right away."

Ryan nodded and left. He knew Liam preferred to pick her up personally whenever he had time.

It wasn't the weekend, and the area wasn't particularly bustling.

The street outside the cinema was sparsely populated, less lively than usual.

Vivian sat down on a nearby bench to wait.

But the person who arrived wasn't Liam...
