Chapter 293

Night grew deeper.

Liam Sullivan pushed open the apartment door to complete darkness.

His heart sank. He immediately switched on the lights.

The living room was in disarray. Items were scattered everywhere.

Vivian Bennett sat alone on the sofa. Her figure looked frail.

He walked over quickly, his brow furrowed.

"Vivian?" he called softly.

Vivian looked up dazedly. Her eyes were slightly red.

She suddenly reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Hold me," she whispered, her voice trembling.

Liam immediately gathered her into his arms.

He held her tightly, as if protecting a precious treasure.

Vivian buried her face in his chest. She breathed in his familiar scent.

As long as he was here, she felt safe.

A long time passed before she stirred slightly.

"Let me go," she said quietly.

Liam released his arms and studied her carefully.

His gaze fell on the bloodstain on her clothes.

"What happened?" His voice was low.

Vivian turned her face away. "It was an accident."

She didn't dare mention Brandon White.

That useless brother only brought her shame.

She would find a way to compensate for the stolen jewelry herself.

Liam lifted her chin.

Under the light, the red mark on her cheek was clearly visible.

"Who hit you?" His tone turned cold.

Vivian forced a smile. "I really fell."

Liam gripped her hand.

"I'm here. Don't be afraid," he said firmly.

He could see she was hiding something.

Warmth spread through Vivian's heart.

He always made her feel secure.

But she still wanted to handle her family matters herself.

"I'm really fine," she said, feigning lightness.

Liam's gaze was sharp. "Sitting alone in the dark, not answering your phone. That's fine?"

Vivian lowered her head apologetically. "I'm sorry for worrying you."

"Let's get dinner first," he finally said, dropping the subject.

He took her hand and led her out.

Liam took her to Oliver Winston's restaurant.

Oliver heard they had arrived and came over to greet them.

During the meal, Vivian got up to use the restroom.

Liam immediately took out his phone.

"Send a team to clean Emerald Estate," he ordered coldly. "Also, find out what happened today."

Oliver raised an eyebrow nearby.

"In such a hurry to take her home?" he teased. "Will the Sullivan family agree?"
