Chapter 290
Vivian Bennett's heart raced.
She couldn't meet his deep, intense gaze.
She reached out and gave him a gentle push.
"I'm hungry. I want breakfast."
Liam Sullivan's thin lips pressed together.
He rose from the bed.
Vivian sat up and straightened her pajamas.
The dining table was filled with exquisite breakfast dishes.
Liam sat at the table.
His long fingers tapped lightly on his knee.
Vivian's appetite surged at the sight of the food.
She moved closer.
Liam suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist.
She tumbled onto his solid lap.
His crisp, masculine scent enveloped her instantly.
Vivian's cheeks burned.
After last night, her feelings for him had completely changed.
What was once mere attraction had become intensely sensitive.
Blushing, she pushed his hand away.
She picked up her fork and knife and took a soup dumpling.
Liam reached for his utensils, but she was faster.
"This is mine," she said, puffing out her cheeks.
Liam set his utensils down and reached for the bowl of porridge.
Vivian snatched it away. "This is mine too."
He went for a sandwich.
She pulled the entire plate in front of herself.
"I love all of these. You should go eat somewhere else."
She blinked and smiled, clearly shooing him away.
Her new role left her flustered. She needed space to herself.
Instead of getting angry, Liam found her adorable.
He ruffled her hair. "Anything you want, I'll give you. Including myself."
His handsome face was right before her.
Sharp brows, starry eyes, a tall straight nose, and sensual thin lips.
Vivian's blood heated. Her throat went dry.
She gulped down two mouthfuls of milk to calm herself.
Who could handle such charm first thing in the morning?
"Liam Sullivan, are you really dating for the first time?"
A drop of milk clung to the corner of her mouth. She was about to lick it away.
Liam suddenly leaned in.
His thin lips captured hers.
He sucked the milk away cleanly.
He pulled back quickly.
Vivian's face flushed a deep red.
"You... have OCD. Wasn't that dirty?"
"Nothing about you is dirty."
A shiver ran through Vivian's heart.
She shook her head and scolded playfully, "You go out first. I need time to adjust."
Liam stood up gracefully.
He reached the doorway.
Vivian called out to stop him.
"Let's keep our relationship a secret for now. We might break up soon anyway. I don't want people saying I'm climbing the social ladder."
She was actually more afraid of his family finding out.
She hadn't even enjoyed the sweetness yet. She didn't want to face humiliation.
Liam narrowed his eyes. A frosty chill settled over his handsome features.
"Thinking about breaking up already, right after we got together?"
Vivian cleared her throat lightly. "Just talking. If we're not compatible, we break up. Maybe you'll get bored of me first?"
Liam snorted coldly, his lips pressed into a tight line.
He left the room with a cold expression.
Vivian murmured distractedly, "I'm really not that great..."
"Rest here today."
Liam tossed the words over his shoulder before leaving.
Vivian finished breakfast alone.
Taking care of him all night had truly exhausted her.
She wanted to go home but found the door locked.
She had no choice but to lie back down on the bed.
She fell asleep again soon after.
Liam left while she was still deep in sleep.
Watching her sleeping face, the corner of his mouth lifted slightly.
He changed clothes and went to the company for a meeting.
Vivian slept until the afternoon.
Waking to an empty room left her feeling disoriented.
She noticed the note on the dining table and couldn't help a light laugh.
"Liam Sullivan, you have some conscience after all."
The doorbell suddenly rang.
Vivian threw on a coat and went to answer it.
