Chapter 261

Especially now, with Liam Sullivan standing right before her.

Vivian Bennett quickly gathered her thoughts and forced a smile. "Vice President, what a coincidence."

Isabella Sullivan glanced at Liam, her lips curving. "Yes, it's rare for my brother and I to relax together. Are you alone?"

"I'm with my cousin."

Vivian spoke softly, her gaze involuntarily drifting toward Liam.

She maintained a calm facade, her words stiff. "Mr. Sullivan."

Liam's cold eyes swept over her without a word.

His gaze felt like an ice pick stabbing into her heart.

Vivian's fingers trembled slightly. She quickly made an excuse. "My cousin is waiting for me. I should go."

She practically fled the scene.

Isabella watched the hurried departure, a dark glint in her eyes.

She turned to Liam, testing the waters. "Brother, weren't you a bit too cold just now? Vivian seemed quite embarrassed."

Liam's lips curled into a cold smirk. He walked away without a word.

Inside the private room, Vivian felt restless.

Grace Harper leaned closer and whispered, "You've been distracted ever since you returned from the restroom. Who did you run into?"

Vivian snapped back to reality, covering up her unease. "No one."

Grace didn't press further and turned back to sing with the guests.

Vivian sat alone in the corner.

The image of Liam and Isabella standing side by side lingered in her mind.

She gloomily picked up her glass and drained it in one go.

It wasn't until Grace's voice grew hoarse from singing that the guests finally left satisfied.

Before departing, they left a thick stack of tips.

Grace counted the money and tried to split it with her cousin.

Vivian pushed her hand away. "Keep it, sis."

"But you contributed a lot tonight..." Grace hesitated.

Those guests had clearly been more interested in Vivian.

Even though she remained distant the entire time, they hadn't seemed to mind.

"You need the money," Vivian said firmly.

She only had herself to feed.

But her cousin might be facing a divorce and would have many expenses ahead.

Grace clenched the bills, her eyes growing warm. "Thank you, Vivian."
