Chapter 248
Liam Sullivan didn't wait for her to finish speaking before he swept her up into his arms.
He was desperate to become one with her.
He had waited far too long for this day.
Vivian Bennett sensed the danger and quickly pressed her hands against his solid chest. "Didn't you just say you'd go out with me?"
Liam paused.
Had he said that?
Vivian hurriedly reminded him. "You broke my dishes. If you don't buy me new ones, I won't have anything to use for breakfast tomorrow."
Her lips puckered into a pout. Tears shimmered in her eyes.
Liam saw right through her little act.
She was clearly stalling for time.
Even though she had agreed to date him, she was still insisting on that one-month rule.
Vivian thought to herself: she would observe him for a month, avoid intimacy as much as possible, and only take things further if he proved himself worthy.
A dangerous glint flashed in Liam's eyes as the corner of his mouth lifted.
Finally, he released her.
Vivian secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
The next moment, he grabbed her hand and pulled her straight out the door.
His warm palm enveloped her right hand. Vivian stole a glance at him but didn't pull away, allowing him to lead her.
The evening breeze brushed against her face.
She didn't feel cold at all.
Instead, she felt an indescribable sense of contentment.
Was this what love felt like?
Her apartment was located in the heart of the shopping district.
Commercial streets and department stores surrounded the area.
Liam held her hand tightly as they walked forward.
Soon, he led her directly toward a luxury boutique mall.
Vivian hesitated. "Aren't we going to the supermarket to buy dishes? Why are we here?"
"To buy tableware." Liam glanced at her with a smile and entered a Nordic brand store.
He had long disliked her cheap kitchenware. This was the perfect opportunity to replace it with the high-end series he was accustomed to.
Vivian had no choice but to follow him inside.
None of the items on display had price tags.
But it was obvious that anything Liam Sullivan favored would be exorbitantly expensive.
The elegantly poised and impeccably made-up sales associate approached them with trained professionalism.
Liam casually pointed out a few tableware sets before leading her to the vase display.
He gestured toward vases of different materials and asked softly, "Which one do you like?"
Vivian was taken aback. She hadn't expected him to buy a vase.
Was it for the bouquet of roses he had given her?
Her home indeed lacked a suitable vase for such a large arrangement.
She turned to examine the selection carefully.
Under the cone lights, various vases sparkled with exquisite translucence and dazzling beauty.
Vivian looked for a long time, finding each piece utterly captivating.
She looked up at him helplessly. "Do you have any that aren't easily broken?"
Liam raised an eyebrow. "Should we have one custom-made?"
"I was joking." Vivian quickly shook her head. "I just think these vases are so beautiful. It's a shame they break so easily."
Her casual remark made Liam sigh darkly. "You are like my fragile item. The slightest touch might make you leave."
Vivian's expression froze as she stared at him in stunned silence.
Was he serious?
