Chapter 239
“What are you doing?” Vivian glared at him angrily.
She hadn’t agreed to anything yet. What did he mean by holding her hand so tightly?
Before she could finish speaking, Liam Sullivan cupped her chin and kissed her.
Vivian’s eyes widened.
She tried to push him away, but he was too strong.
In the end, she had no choice but to endure his domineering kiss.
When it ended, she was left gasping for air.
She shot him an annoyed look.
What should she do?
It seemed she really couldn’t escape this man.
He had moved next door just for her.
Where else could she possibly run?
Vivian lowered her head, not daring to meet his gaze.
She knew his intense stare would make her surrender quickly.
Even without looking up, she could feel his burning, passionate gaze.
“Liam, just let me think, okay?” she said helplessly.
Her mind was in chaos. She needed time to sort through her thoughts.
“How long? An hour?” he pressed, his eyes fixed on her.
“Not today.”
“Tomorrow then?”
“Just give me some space. I can’t give you a specific time right now. It might be today, or it might be tomorrow. But I really need to figure things out between us. I can’t just accept you without thinking clearly.” She ran her fingers through her hair in frustration.
“I can’t wait too long. Think it over today and give me your answer tomorrow!” He released her hand and gripped her chin firmly.
“Don’t do this.” She turned her face away, avoiding his touch.
Looking into his eyes made it impossible for her to think straight.
His gaze was deep and mesmerizing, like a whirlpool that could easily pull her in.
“Let me think. If you really want me to accept you, give me some time. Don’t pressure me.”
Liam stared at her for a long moment, his expression reluctant.
“Three days.”
He had waited too long for her. He had to set a limit. He couldn’t let the waiting become endless torture.
“Three days is my limit,” he said seriously.
“Fine. Three days.” Vivian nodded in compromise.
After finally seeing Liam out, she poured herself a glass of water and sat in the living room to calm down.
The empty, quiet room slowly helped her regain her composure.
But her heart remained tangled and uneasy.
The idea of accepting Liam and being with the powerful CEO felt like a dream to her.
Yet he had moved next door just for her. How had he even come up with that idea?
It was proof of his sincerity.
What should she do?
Vivian ran her hands through her long hair in frustration. She stood up, intending to clear the breakfast dishes.
Her phone on the coffee table chimed twice. A new message had arrived.
She reached for it and opened the message.
It contained a time and a location.
7:30 PM tonight. Sullivan Group branch office.
Vivian’s heart skipped a beat. Alarm bells rang in her mind.
She had been trying to contact her former colleagues at the branch office to inquire about her cousin’s husband, Jason Harper.
But all of them, men and women alike, refused to talk about Jason.
It was as if his name was taboo.
This made Vivian suspicious.
Was this anonymous message from one of those colleagues?
Did they want to tell her something secretly?
Her intuition told her this message was related to Jason’s affair.
After work, she took a taxi to the Sullivan Group branch office.
Night had already fallen outside. The city lights glimmered.
Vivian hid in the dim light of a streetlamp, waiting quietly for Jason’s car to appear.
