Chapter 237
"You can't wear the same clothes for two days straight." Vivian Bennett shot him a glance, her voice dropping low.
Outerwear might be manageable, but undergarments were a different matter.
A man like Liam Sullivan, with his deeply ingrained fastidiousness, would never tolerate wearing the same underwear for two days.
Vivian had counted on this very point, certain it would force him to leave.
"I have a solution."
Liam slowly lifted his gaze, his eyes locking directly with hers.
"What solution?" Her heart skipped a beat, a sense of foreboding washing over her.
A sly glint hid in his eyes, like a hunter who had already set his trap, calmly waiting for his prey to walk right in.
She instantly grew wary.
Liam spoke suddenly. "I can go home and change."
Vivian's expression relaxed.
Perfect. That was exactly what she wanted.
It was rare for them to be on the same page.
"Then what are you waiting for?" Her tone softened, carrying a note of urgency.
She breathed an inward sigh of relief.
She was finally going to get rid of this imposing figure.
Although she had let him stay the night, thankfully nothing had happened.
She had survived this ordeal unscathed.
Liam, however, raised an eyebrow and pointed toward the door. "I live next door to you. 1102."
"1...102?!"
Vivian was completely stunned, her eyes widening into perfect circles.
It took her several seconds to process this. "You live in 1102? That impossibly nitpicky new neighbor who's been making all that renovation noise for days—that's you?!"
"Yes." Liam gave her a brief glance, admitting it freely.
He automatically ignored the "nitpicky" comment.
He watched every subtle change on her face carefully, saying slowly, "From now on, we're neighbors."
"How did you end up next door? Did you buy that unit?!"
Vivian's mind was buzzing, a mix of shock and confusion.
Liam Sullivan had quietly moved in next door, and she was only realizing it now.
What was even more infuriating was that he lived right across the hall. So what right did he have to impose on her place last night?!
He had totally played on her sympathy and tricked her!
How utterly despicable!
Vivian secretly clenched her fists, glaring at him angrily.
Liam certainly wasn't foolish enough to confess now—that he hadn't just bought 1102, but that her own unit, 1101, had long been under his name.
In fact, this entire gated community was a development under the Sullivan Group.
These two units were specially purchased for her.
Seeing Vivian puffing up with anger, her eyes shooting daggers, clearly on the verge of an outburst.
Liam's gaze dimmed, his mood instantly turning somber.
"I had no other choice," he lowered his eyelashes, his voice low and hoarse. "I just wanted to be closer to you."
Vivian's raging anger abruptly stalled.
It was like a clear, pure bell had struck her heart, instantly calming all her agitation.
She stared blankly at the man on the sofa, dressed in an ill-fitting bathrobe, his features weary.
