Chapter 23

The women in the PR department all lit up at the chance to get close to Zachary Hudson.

Who wouldn't want to catch the eye of the dashing young heir?

It could change their lives overnight.

Vivian Bennett was different.

She was only interested in the money.

As for Zachary, she desperately hoped he wouldn't recognize her.

She didn't want him remembering their disastrous blind date and seeking revenge.

Manager Thomas Carter scanned the room.

He selected the most outstanding beauties in the department to join him that evening to meet Zachary.

"Vivian Bennett, you're coming too."

Thomas finally called her name.

Vivian paused for a moment, then nodded.

Her mind was already calculating the substantial bonus.

Emily Davis, sitting beside her, nudged her arm. "Congratulations! You get to be up close with the famous Zachary Hudson."

Vivian forced a weak smile. "I'm only interested in the money."

Emily's eyes sparkled as if she had found a kindred spirit.

"I can't believe we think alike!"

She warmly linked arms with Vivian.

Thrilled to find a colleague who shared her pragmatic outlook, Emily was especially excited.

Vivian smiled in response. "It seems we get along well."

Emily scoffed dismissively. "I really don't get those women. Going crazy over a playboy like Zachary Hudson. If I were to be infatuated with anyone, it would be our big boss."

Vivian nearly choked on her own saliva.

"So you're a fan of Mr. Sullivan."

Emily raised an eyebrow. "Isn't everyone? Mr. Sullivan is far superior to Zachary Hudson. At least he keeps to himself and has never been involved in any messy relationships. The only person he's ever been linked to romantically is his adopted sister, Vice President Isabella Sullivan."

Vivian's heart clenched tightly.

Liam Sullivan had been involved in rumors with Isabella Sullivan.

That time she saw them with a little boy at the restaurant...

Could that child really be their secret love child?

After the meeting, Vivian returned to her workstation, lost in troubled thoughts.

Just then, her phone suddenly rang.

Other colleagues in the office turned to look.

Sullivan Group strictly prohibited taking personal calls during work hours.

Without a second thought, Vivian declined the call.

Liam Sullivan's expression darkened instantly.

How dare she hang up on him?

He had waited all morning for her to come to his office.

Now he called her personally, and she hung up?

Did she not want to work at Sullivan Group anymore?

Frowning, Liam dialed again.

Vivian hung up once more.

He stubbornly continued to call.

Vivian continued to decline.

After several rounds, Liam's patience finally wore thin.

Vivian had also reached her limit.

She gritted her teeth and answered the phone, her tone sharp. "Haven't you had enough? When someone hangs up on you, it means they can't talk. Don't you understand that? If this isn't important, I'll call you non-stop tonight. I'll make sure you don't sleep a wink..."
