Chapter 216

Her finger hovered over the screen, hesitating to press the confirm button.

She finally chose to power off the phone.

The screen went completely dark.

Suddenly having such an intimate relationship with the big boss.

She needed time to process it alone.

Vivian Bennett returned to Seattle the next afternoon.

Her phone rang as soon as she stepped through her front door.

It was her cousin Grace Harper calling.

The sound of suppressed sobs came through the receiver.

Grace's trembling voice told her that she had discovered Jason Harper's infidelity.

Vivian immediately recalled the time she saw her cousin's husband shopping with an unfamiliar woman.

Had the signs been there all along?

This was a serious matter.

Vivian immediately asked Grace to come to her home to talk in detail.

When Grace arrived, her eyes were swollen and her face was pale as paper.

"I found their chat logs..." Grace's voice was broken. "They've already been intimate..."

Vivian frowned deeply. "Do you know who the other woman is?"

Grace shook her head blankly.

"Does Jason know you found out?"

Grace continued shaking her head.

"He was showering last night when I heard his phone notification..." she explained between sobs. "I meant to bring it to him, but I saw that woman had sent him nude photos..."

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

"The chat logs were full of explicit conversations..."

Vivian looked directly at her. "Why not confront him directly?"

Grace avoided her gaze. "I'm afraid... afraid he'll ask for a divorce outright."

Vivian couldn't believe it. "If Jason really cheated, you wouldn't consider divorce?"

Grace's expression shifted uncertainly.

"I need to understand what happened first... What if that woman seduced him?"

She was instinctively making excuses for her husband.

Vivian was inwardly shocked.

Her cousin clearly wasn't prepared for divorce.

If Jason insisted on ending the marriage, how would Grace cope?

Vivian's expression turned grave.

Any advice would feel hollow right now.

As the saying goes, you can't wake someone who's pretending to sleep.

Jason's infidelity was already a fact.

Yet Grace was only focused on her grief.

She feared her husband would leave her.

There was no resolve to cut ties because of the betrayal.

Vivian truly feared her cousin would suffer deeper harm.

Grace cried until she was completely exhausted.

Seeing her poor condition, Vivian insisted she stay the night.

Grace nodded in agreement.

She dragged her tired body to the bathroom.

After washing up, she went directly to the guest room and fell into a deep sleep.

Vivian could see her cousin was truly exhausted.

Emotionally drained.

She had probably been awake all night since discovering her husband's affair.

Vivian sighed softly and carefully tucked the blanket around her cousin.

She quietly closed the door as she left.

Returning to her own room, she lay in bed but couldn't sleep.

Her mind was filled with concern for her cousin.
