Chapter 188
His gaze pinned her like a blade.
Vivian Bennett froze for several seconds before processing his words.
She gathered her courage and met Liam Sullivan's intense stare.
"Who I date is my freedom," she stated clearly, each word deliberate. "I don't need to report it to you."
She held his gaze without flinching.
Since she had decided to draw a clear line, she would see it through.
"Vivian!" Liam's voice grated through clenched teeth.
He had never felt so powerless toward another person.
Rage burned in his eyes.
Vivian was shaken by his sudden fury.
Steadying herself, she stubbornly insisted, "If there's nothing else, I should go."
She moved to push his hand away.
Liam felt his chest might explode.
He roughly dragged her toward the parking lot.
Vivian, frightened by his menacing aura, began to struggle.
"Let me go!"
Liam ignored her protests, shoving her into the passenger seat.
Vivian desperately pushed against the door, but it was useless.
Only when he slid into the driver's seat with a dark expression did she tremble and ask, "What do you want?"
Liam stared at her lips, then suddenly crushed his mouth against hers in a harsh bite.
Vivian gasped in pain, her eyes instantly welling with tears.
But Liam did not continue the kiss.
He gripped her chin, forcing her to look up.
Seeing the redness at the corners of her eyes, he paused.
His thumb gently brushed her injured lip. His voice softened. "Does it hurt?"
Vivian slapped his hand away, glaring. "Is this fun for you?"
Liam watched her furious expression, then suddenly smirked. "You're fun."
Vivian stared blankly, then scoffed. "Wasn't the agreement terminated?"
Since it was over, why bother disturb?
Liam's eyes turned icy.
He stared at those lips that always spoke cutting words.
"So I never meant anything to you?" His voice was low.
Vivian's lips curved in self-mockery. "What could possibly make someone like you remember me?"
Liam watched her in silence.
His gaze deepened.
Vivian clenched her fingers. "Don't come looking for me anymore."
Her voice was soft. "We're not suited."
A sharp pain stabbed through Liam's chest.
The car fell into dead silence.
Vivian took the black card from her bag.
She held it out to him. "Take this back."
Liam pressed his lips together tightly, not accepting it.
She placed the card on the seat and reached for the central lock.
Liam suddenly grabbed her wrist, pushing her back against the seat.
His tall frame loomed over her.
