Chapter 158
Vivian Bennett was nearly suffocating.
Liam Sullivan finally released her lips.
She gasped for air, her chest heaving violently.
"You..."
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
She couldn't understand what she had done to provoke him.
"Let me go!"
She pounded his chest in shame and anger.
Her body twisted and struggled.
Liam's muscles instantly tensed.
"Stop moving!"
He growled through clenched teeth.
Vivian immediately froze.
During her struggle, she had accidentally kicked her injured foot.
She sucked in a sharp breath from the pain.
"What's wrong?"
Liam stared intently at her.
"My foot hurts." She forced out the words.
Today was truly disastrous.
First, he had dragged her around and made her sprain her ankle.
Now she had bumped the injury again.
"Sorry, I forgot about your foot." His tone carried genuine regret.
If he hadn't been so rough earlier, her foot wouldn't have swollen this badly.
"Please let me go first." She said urgently.
Liam pushed himself up.
He helped her sit on the sofa.
Then he knelt before her.
He gently lifted her injured foot.
The ankle was already badly swollen.
His eyes darkened.
His fingertips lightly brushed over the swelling, his frown deepening.
"Ah..."
Vivian trembled from the pain.
"Should we go to the hospital?" He asked with concern.
"No need." She quickly shook her head.
"It's swollen this badly. It must be very painful." He stared at the injury, feeling guilty.
"I'll just apply some medicine when I get home." She licked her lips, still thinking about going home.
"How are you going to return like this?" His voice turned serious.
"I can manage." She nodded eagerly.
She was terrified of being forced to stay overnight.
She had never planned to stay here.
"Take a few steps and let me see." He gazed at her and suddenly commanded.
Vivian immediately stood up and walked a few steps, enduring the pain.
It was tolerable.
She forced a smile. "See? It's fine, right?"
Before she finished speaking, she suddenly lost her balance.
Grimacing in pain, she nearly fell.
Liam quickly caught her.
A flash of tension crossed his eyes.
