Chapter 15
The HR manager was buried in paperwork when his direct line rang.
Seeing the caller ID, he immediately straightened up.
It was the CEO himself.
He hastily answered, his tone respectful. "Mr. Sullivan?"
Liam Sullivan's deep voice came through. "Has Vivian Bennett's onboarding been completed?"
The manager paused. "Not yet..."
Liam's voice grew slightly stern. "She should be arriving soon. Send her directly to the executive office to report."
"Yes, sir!" The manager quickly agreed.
After hanging up, he wiped the cold sweat from his temple.
Isabella Sullivan happened to be outside the office door.
She was about to enter when she heard Liam's voice inside.
She stopped in her tracks.
The name "Vivian Bennett" clearly reached her ears.
Isabella had an excellent memory.
She had just interviewed this woman, Vivian Bennett, in the PR department that morning.
That excessively beautiful face had left a deep impression.
Even more surprising was her ability to think on her feet.
She handled the successive challenges from both the PR manager and assistant manager with ease.
Such candidates were truly rare.
She never expected her brother to personally inquire about her hiring.
A dark glint flashed in Isabella's eyes.
She quickly resumed her elegant and proper expression, raising her hand to knock.
"Enter." Liam's low voice responded.
Isabella pushed the door open.
Liam was seated behind his large desk, reviewing documents.
Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, outlining his deep,3D side profile.
He was so handsome it was hard to look away.
A flicker of obsession passed through Isabella's eyes, quickly concealed.
She approached slowly, a gentle smile gracing her lips. "Brother."
Liam didn't look up, acknowledging her with a faint sound.
His attention remained focused on the file.
"Something you need?" he asked.
Isabella spoke softly. "Xiao Chao's kindergarten is holding a sports day tomorrow. They require both parents to attend..."
She paused, asking, "Can you come with us?"
Xiao Chao was her son.
She had always kept the identity of the child's father hidden from the public.
To prevent her son from being teased by classmates, she always asked Liam to attend school events as his father.
Liam set down his pen. "Alright."
He had always doted on this nephew.
He also understood his sister's difficulties raising a child alone.
He never refused to help where he could.
Isabella's face immediately blossomed into a smile. "Xiao Chao will be so happy when he finds out!"
She lingered in the office for a long time.
It wasn't until Liam finished the last document that he realized she was still there.
"Why haven't you gone to lunch yet?" He frowned, checking the time.
Isabella said gently, "Waiting for you."
Liam shook his head helplessly.
"I'll change, then take you to lunch."
He stood and walked toward his private restroom.
Isabella watched him leave, then slowly sat in his office chair, still warm from his body heat.
Her fingertips lightly traced the back of the chair.
A meaningful curve touched the corners of her lips.
