Chapter 141
Vivian Bennett struggled to breathe.
"Mmm..."
She forced her heavy eyelids open.
A tall, muscular figure loomed over her in the blurry darkness.
"Ah!"
Vivian jolted awake.
All drowsiness vanished.
It took her a moment to recognize the man pinning her down.
Liam Sullivan.
She should have known he had ulterior motives.
His promises last night were lies.
Holding her through the night.
Helping reduce her fever.
All deception.
His real goal was to devour her.
Vivian trembled with anger.
"You didn't even ask for my consent. How could you—"
"Your body already agreed."
Liam braced his arms on either side of her head.
He stopped kissing her, his voice hoarse.
Vivian froze.
"What?"
He leaned close to her lips.
"Don't you want this too?"
"You—"
Vivian's face flushed crimson.
Before she could protest, he captured her mouth again.
Liam's breath scorched like fire.
It felt like he would burn her alive.
Vivian twisted away, but couldn't escape him.
Her blood surged wildly.
Every nerve tingled with sensation.
Liam hovered above her.
His kisses trailed from her lips down her neck.
Then lower to her collarbone.
Vivian instinctively pushed against his chest.
Her hands recoiled at the touch of his searing skin.
Every muscle of his body strained taut.
Raw masculine power radiated from him.
"Where do you want me to kiss you?" he murmured near her ear.
His low, husky voice held a dangerous allure.
Vivian's mind went blank for several seconds.
Where did she want his kisses?
Nowhere.
She had spiked another fever last night.
How could she handle him now?
She avoided his intense, burning gaze.
"Can't you let me go?"
Her plea carried an unconscious note of coquettishness.
"You don't want this?" Liam's eyes darkened.
"I'm still sick." Vivian grasped for an excuse.
"Then we'll just kiss." His dark eyes fixed on her lips.
His Adam's apple bobbed.
His mouth descended on hers again.
Vivian had no chance to speak.
He kissed her fiercely, allowing no resistance.
After a while, she felt his large hand begin to wander.
It roamed boldly over her skin.
His palm burned like brand.
Everywhere he touched felt set ablaze.
"Just kiss. Stop groping me."
Vivian nearly lost her mind.
Her cheeks burned with humiliation and frustration.
Liam pinned both her slender wrists above her head.
This gave him easier access to kiss and caress.
"Liam Sullivan, don't!"
In her panic, she cried his full name.
Liam's breathing grew even heavier.
"Either we do it, or you let me touch you."
What kind of choice was that?
Vivian wished she could vanish into the floor.
Before she could answer, his hands already stoked fires across her body.
