Chapter 14
Vivian Bennett tossed and turned in bed.
Jason Harper's sudden change in attitude puzzled her.
Liam Sullivan's unexpected proposal left her heart in turmoil.
Both men were completely unpredictable to her.
The transfer to the headquarters weighed on her like a massive stone.
She rolled over and stared blankly at the ceiling.
She only managed to fall asleep close to dawn.
But her mind was already made up.
Morning light filtered through the gaps in the curtains.
Vivian applied her professional makeup with care.
She selected a well-tailored dress suit.
After a simple breakfast, she called a taxi.
She did not report directly to the Human Resources department.
Instead, she headed toward the Public Relations recruitment office.
Online information showed today was the interview day.
She wanted to earn her place at Sullivan Group through her own merits.
She refused to be labeled as someone who advanced through connections.
The waiting area was filled with applicants.
The elevator suddenly chimed with a clear sound.
Over a dozen bodyguards in black escorted a woman in white into view.
The woman's skin was fairer than snow, and her demeanor was elegant.
Oversized sunglasses could not hide her delicate features.
She exuded the noble aura of an heiress from a prestigious family.
"Who is that? Such a grand entrance?" Vivian whispered to the applicant beside her.
"You don't know Isabella Sullivan?" Emily Davis replied excitedly in a hushed tone.
"She's the CEO's sister. A vice president just back from overseas."
"She tested into the gifted program at sixteen and is fluent in six languages."
Vivian was slightly taken aback.
She hadn't expected this to be Liam Sullivan's sister.
Upon closer inspection, she found no resemblance between them at all.
"Are they cousins?"
"I heard they're not related by blood."
Emily leaned closer, whispering.
"She's an orphan adopted by the Sullivan family. Raised as a heiress since childhood."
The interviewer began calling numbers as they spoke.
Soon it was Vivian's group's turn.
Isabella Sullivan sat at the head of the table in the conference room.
The Public Relations manager and assistant manager flanked her.
Vivian answered the professional questions fluently.
The two managers nodded frequently in approval.
Only Isabella's expression remained unreadable throughout.
Her gaze behind the sunglasses was impossible to decipher.
The interview concluded with instructions to wait for a notification at home.
Vivian left the building quietly.
Unaware that in the penthouse CEO's office.
Liam Sullivan kept checking the clock.
He finally picked up the phone and dialed Human Resources.
"Has Vivian Bennett reported for duty today?"
