Chapter 111
Under Liam Sullivan's protection, Vivian Bennett finally enjoyed a few peaceful days.
As her shift ended, she walked out of the company's main entrance with Emily Davis.
The two had made plans to have hot pot together.
Ryan Johnson suddenly appeared before them.
"Miss Bennett, Mr. Sullivan is waiting for you in the car." The assistant pointed toward a black limousine parked nearby.
Vivian's heart skipped a beat.
Why would Liam Sullivan suddenly come looking for her?
And why did he have to choose such a conspicuous spot right at the company entrance?
If her colleagues saw her getting into the CEO's car...
"Could you wait a moment?" She forced a smile.
At least until most colleagues had left.
"I'm afraid Mr. Sullivan can't wait." Ryan lowered his voice. "Unless you want him to come get you himself."
Vivian's scalp prickled.
If Liam actually stepped out of that car and walked toward her in public...
There would be no clearing up the rumors about her and the CEO.
Gritting her teeth, she glanced around to ensure no one was watching before hurrying toward the luxury vehicle.
The moment she opened the door, a strong force pulled her inside.
"Too slow." Liam's deep voice carried clear dissatisfaction.
Vivian couldn't help retorting, "I came as quickly as I could."
What more did he want?
Before she could finish speaking, he pulled her tightly into his embrace.
She instinctively struggled.
"Don't move." His husky voice brushed past her ear. "Let me hold you for a while."
Vivian froze in his arms, her heart pounding like a drum.
She couldn't begin to guess what he was thinking.
"Mr. Sullivan..."
"Call me by my name." He interrupted her.
Vivian's cheeks flushed.
Liam?
Such an intimate address felt impossible to utter.
"Liam Sullivan... did you need something?" She forced the words out.
Liam didn't answer, only buried his face deeper into the curve of her neck.
He breathed in her scent greedily.
After what felt like an eternity, he slowly released her.
His long fingers cupped her face.
"I'm going abroad on a business trip for a few days." His gaze was intense. "I wanted to see you before leaving."
Vivian stared blankly at his handsome features.
Her heart rippled with unfamiliar emotions.
Why would he specifically come to tell her about his business trip?
Did he really consider her his girlfriend?
She bit her lip uncertainly. "Have a safe trip."
Liam chuckled softly, his voice so tender it made her heart flutter. "Nothing else to say to me?"
Vivian frowned in confusion.
What else was she supposed to say?
After thinking hard for a moment, she hesitantly offered, "Don't... overwork yourself?"
Liam pinched her cheek helplessly. "That's not what I wanted to hear."
Vivian was completely lost.
Not that?
Then what did he want to hear?
She stared at him with wide eyes, unable to form any words.
